VISION
To support the common goals and interests of the Assistive Technology, Home Medical Equipment and Supplies, Home Infusion, Respiratory Therapy industries, and to influence how our industry is viewed and reimbursed in New England.
FOCUS AREAS
Based on member feedback, the following five (5) areas will be our primary focus:
- Medicare representation
- Medicaid representation
- Other payors (managed care) representation
- Education
- State/Federal (in conjunction with AAHomecare) lobbying
GOALS
- GOVERNMENT RELATIONS
- Develop partnerships with interested groups, i.e. AARP
- Develop relationships with all congressional representatives in New England
- Coordinate lobbying efforts on the Federal level with AAHomecare, NCART, NHIA. Increase NEMED member participation at AAHomecare Legislative Conference.
- Solicit member contributions to the NEMED PAC

- Monitor State Medicaid reimbursement
- Managed Care – Educate members on contract negotiation

- MEMBERSHIP
- Increase to 145 Regular members and 45 Associate members
- Engage membership in committees and activities

- LEADERSHIP & FINANCE
- Board contingency planning
- Continue to organize and develop committee activities
- Monitor administrative staffing and office requirements
- Ensure financial viability – review financial statements quarterly
